Induction Ceremony

On December 11, 2002, Pontiac Northern High School Student Council held the very first joint Induction ceremony with the National Honor Society. By displaying an excellent grade point average, service, leadership skills, and by being a good example, seventeen individuals were chosen for induction.

Our advisor created a team of devoted teachers that calculated the inductee’s evaluation for academics, citizenship, and attendance. Once this was completed, invitations were given to the inductee’s and a rehearsal was scheduled to inform the students on what was required.

The guest speaker was Mrs. Fran Anderson. She talked of the accomplishments of both NHS and Student Council and gave encouraging words for the future. The inductee’s then lit candles to symbolize the new beginning as a Student Council Member.

A reception was held after the ceremony so all the inducted members could share their new start with family and friends.
