Hey Center 12!
Hopefully you all have had a relaxing summer and are ready to begin another fun yet challenging year in leadership!
I just want to start off by introducing myself to those of you who do not know me. My name is Lisa Zelenak and this year I will be attending Avondale High School as a junior. I enjoy running, playing soccer, volleyball, theatre and of course anything that has to do with leadership! This year I will take on the role of Junior Class President, as well as a member of Avondale's Leadership Class.
So far this year, the MASC and MAHS boards have been hard at work, making sure this year's Fall Training Institutes will be better than ever! If your school is interested in attending, the calendar is online! You can download a registration form from the Upcoming Events page.
In addition to the Fall Training Institutes, there are many other exciting events this year including the Regional Conference (February-March), State Conference (March), Executive Forum (May) and of course MASC/MAHS Leadership Camp (July).
But let us not forget about this year's State Charity...Liberty Kids! This organization helps children with Autism, by providing scholarships to assist in the cost of therapy.
Did you know??
- that 1 out of every 166 individuals are diagnosed with Autism??
- 24,000 more people in the U.S. alone will be diagnosed with it this year??
- there are 130,000 kids with autism in U.S. public schools between the ages of 6 and 17?
Well now you do! And it's all the more reason to get your school to help out with this year's State Charity! Don't wait. Help the Liberty Kids Foundation make a difference TODAY!
Well, that seems to be all for now. If you ever have ANY questions, I'd be more than happy to help. Just e-mail me at socerangel001@yahoo.com. See you in the fall!
