Tentative Conference Schedule (PDF)
This schedule, provided to all State offices in December, is a
tentative outline of the National Conference.
Weather & Dress
Expect to have a warm time in Buffalo during the 2003 NASC National Conference! Dont worry
you wont need a winter coat.
Summer weather in the Buffalo area is warm and humid, with an average temperature of 78 degrees. Believe it or not, it can be downright hot! It is not unusual for late June highs to be in the 80s, but expect possible lows in the 60s.
Come to NASC 2003 prepared with sunglasses and sunscreen, as well as a light jacket for the evenings. Dress for most of the conference will be casual, with a dressy event on the last evening. As the conference program is finalized, delegates and advisers will receive more information in the confirmation packet concerning specific events or conditions that will indicate what to pack for the conference.
Niagara Falls Trip
On Monday, we will be spending the evening in beautiful Niagara Falls!
Dinner will take place at Prospect Point Park followed by an opportunity to see three of the most amazing attractions.
Maid of the Mist
The Maid of the Mist takes passengers to the base of the American Falls then to the basin of the Horseshoe or Canadian Falls. On this exhilarating ride, you can hear the roaring cascades and feel the spray from the millions of gallons of water falling right beside you.
Cave of the Winds
The Cave of the Winds is located on Goat Island within Prospect Point Park. A guide will lead the delegates on an adventure to the base of the Niagara Gorge and over a series of wooden decks below the Bridal Veil/Luna Falls coming within twenty-five feet of the Falls. If you are feeling brave, you can stand on the Hurricane Deck nearest the Bridal Falls and feel the forces of nature as the winds and water of the Niagara Cataracts combine. Raincoats are issued but be prepared to be wet!
Observation Tower
The New York State Observation tower in Prospect Point Park will offer delegates a unique perspective for viewing the Fall and the Park.

Community Service at the Conference
The NASC 2003 Conference Committee has been working for 2 years on a Community Service Project that will hopefully touch the lives of our delegates, the children from Camp Good Days & Special times and ultimately thousands of others in need throughout the country.
Our goal is to allow an opportunity for delegates to spend time with children in need so that they return to their home communities with an improved understanding of special needs individuals and a commitment to helping others like them in their own communities.
Sunday morning, counselors from Camp Good Days & Special Times will meet with the conference delegates to provide information and training for the day.
Camp Good Days & Special Times is an organization committed to children with cancer, AIDS, sickle cell anemia, or who have been touched by violence. They offer day and residential camps, social opportunities as well as family support programs all to make the lives of these children a little bit brighter and more bearable.
The Community Service Project will take place later in the day. Three NASC delegates will be matched up with one child from Camp Good Days & Special Times for icebreakers, activities, diner and time to ride the rides at Six Flags Darien Lake. Six Flags Darien Lake is New Yorks largest family theme park offering over 100 rides, shows, and attractions.
