Spirit Week Activities:

Day 1: School colors day - people dressed in our school colours (burgundy and white)and got a tootsie pop for participating.
Day 2: Karaoke - we got a karaoke thing and a guy to help, students would come up and sing along to their fav songs. All but one person sounded 99% like the person who really sang the song!! There was a great turnout. No money.
Day 3: Root-beer chugalug - messy but fun. you get people to drink down a full can of root-beer and then run across an obstacle course to their partner, who then had to do the same thing. prize was given to the team that finished the quickest (disqualified if cannot finished).
Day 4: Sumo wrestling - we rented these big suits that when worn made the person look really big, and the helmets were like the hair and all. It was really funny, and groups of two friends (or I guess they coulda been enemies...) wrestled each other in them. It was safe since the suits were so big it was like a big pillow around the person.
Day 5: Wrap up...we had something on the announcements that kinda gave school spirit and wrapped it up.

Spirit Court

Regina High School has added Spirit Court to our Spirit Week. This Court is made up of the students who show the most school spirit. Every day of our Spirit Week has a different theme. Each day we choose one student from each grade who has gotten into the theme of the day the most. We also vote for two teachers a day who also display their school pride. Voting is done by the student body. On the last day of Spirit Week we have each grade vote for one student in their grade who had displayed the most spirit all week. We then announce the winners at our Spirit Dance later that night. We divide the court according to: Freshman, Spirit Lady Sophomore, Spirit Duchess Junior, Spirit Princess Senior: Spirit Queen. It is important to note that we are an all female school so our court is made up of all female roles, but you can mirror the female roles with male roles very easily (i.e. King, Prince, Duke, Lord)! Our male teacher with the most votes is our Spirit King. Our female teacher with the most votes is our Spirit Queen Mum. Need more details? Contact Person: Mrs. Melissa Belanger, 313-526-0220.

Shirts for Spirit

Saline High School's student council is buying tee shirts for basketball season to raise the pep level in our school. The first 100 students at our first basketball game and all of the student council members will get one free. After that they are on sale for $6. The goal is to raise the spirit in our school and create more of a defined student section at sporting events.

Decorate your Hallway

Each class is assigned part of the hall. They decorate their part of the hall and the class that wins gets a prize. You can have teachers be judges or kids that aren't participating.

Get in the Holiday Spirit

Get in the Holiday Spirit week is a week when the student body can show off their holiday spirit. The event happens the week before Christmas break. On the Thursday before the event, hand out candy canes with a slip of paper listing the days of the week and what will be going on. Also hand out coloring sheets for the coloring contest. During the week, blast Christmas music in the locker banks and show Christmas movies at lunch. On some days offer gift wrapping races at lunch and free root beer floats ( FROSTY FLOATS). On Friday have the bonanza, RED AND GREEN DAY as well as the "Photo Op With Santa." Get a famous teacher in your school to dress up like Santa and ask kids to pay $1.00 for a picture with this teacher. Then the money can go to charity or what have you.
