Senior Week
At Utica High School, we host a Senior Week to say goodbye to our outgoing senior class and to let them know that they've made a difference at our school. Every senior is sent a personal invitation to participate in the events of the week. The Saturday before we decorate the main hallway with the senior items including class motto, flower, song, and mock election results. On the Monday and Tuesday we do alternating Hush Days and every senior recieves a gift (from the other 2 classes on subsequent days). The next day is the Senior Breakfast which is held at a local banquet hall during first hour. Students must purchase a ticket in advance to be excused for thier first hours and seniors are checked off a master list as they arrive. That Thursday is our Rose Cutting Ceremony, where senior students present their parents with a rose after their letter of thanks has been read. This takes place in our auditorium. That Friday is senior shirt day and we end the week with a movie shown on the football field. This week is one of the most popular at Utica High and requires a very supportive administration. Sign Painting Party
Every season, Cheboygan High has a sign-painting party after school to recognize the different athletes. We paint a different sign for each sport and put all the players' names on it. Then we hang the signs in the gym. Everyone is welcome at these parties and we always serve pizza after the signs are finished.
