It is always a pleasure for me to address such an amazing group of individuals like the ones found in incredible Centers 1 and 2! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Casey Hoffman and I serve as the Michigan Association of Honor Societies Centers 1 and 2 Representative. For the past two years I have served as the Michigan Association of Student Councils Center 1 Representative. I am very excited to continue my efforts on the State Board for one more year with MAHS. Allow me to fill you in on what is going on with MAHS/MASC… As always, this year’s Fall Training Institutes will be a great opportunity for students throughout our great state to hone in on their leadership skills. The conferences consist of a day of energetic presentations and workshops that students from Central Michigan University have been developing over the past few months. Any student or advisor is sure to enjoy the original and creative curriculum presented by students from CMU and the MASC/MAHS State Board members. The MASC/MAHS State Charity of the Year, Alternatives in Motion, is another way for you to get involved and a great way to help make a difference in your state on a large level. Because of the overwhelming support and excitement for this charity, Alternatives in Motion has been the State Charity of the Year every five years since first teaming up with MAHS/MASC. Donations to this charity will be used to buy and repair wheelchairs for those who are unable to afford them. The MASC/MAHS highlight of the year will be here before you know it! This year’s STATE CONFERENCE will be held at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, MI. Students will have the opportunity to network with other students throughout our state, listen to nationally renowned speakers and improve their personal leadership skills and abilities. Hosted by Avondale High School, this extravaganza is sure to be a spectacle you won’t want to miss. Opportunities for you to get involved in your state are always happening! I encourage you to stay active in all of the wonderful things that the Michigan Associations of Student Councils and the Michigan Association of Honor Societies have to offer. Ask your advisors and administration about attending upcoming MAHS/MASC activities! Make sure to take advantage of the rest of our outstanding web site! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I am here to represent YOU. Take care. In Leadership, Casey C. Hoffman
