What’s up Center 6?

My name is Marco Tori and I’m your Center 6 MAHS Representative for this upcoming year! I’m very excited about what MASC/MAHS has going on and I’m pumped to be a part of it! I hope everyone’s summer went well and the back to school transition is going smoothly. Congrats to all the fellow SENIORS out there, who are starting the end of their high school career.

First, a little bit about myself: I am seventeen years old, turning eighteen in October. My passion in life is student leadership. I love making a difference in my school and now in the state of Michigan. I am very involved in Class Council and Student Government. I hold an officer position on each of them. I am also on my National Honor Society. Besides school, I am on community service organizations and I work at a retirement community after school. Music is very important to me and I listen to all types. Someday I would like to become a doctor in the field of cardiology.

Besides guiding the state organization, the State Board Members are planning some extra stuff, like podcasts and news articles. Check mine out in December and February respectively. We also have some great conferences and workshops planned. Fall Training Institutes will be held in the fall and are good workshops for new members in your honor society. Any and all members of your society are welcome to attend though. Dates for FTI’s and other events should be on the homepage of the website or they are coming soon. There is also a great state charity this year. It is called Alternatives in Motion, which is an organization that helps people with insufficient insurance to get the correct wheelchair they need. Start raising money to help this amazing cause now and be ahead when it comes time to send it in in March. There is also a link to the charity website for more information.

If you want more info, please feel free to email me about anything (MASC/MAHS, conferences, State Board, State Charity, me, etc.). I would love to hear from all of you! My email is mtdew1489@aim.com and I pretty much check it every day at least twice.

Leaders Together,

Marco Tori
