MAHS Center 8 Spotlight Read the other MAHS Spotlights: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 Vist the MASC Spotlights: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 Southeastern Michigan Hey Center 8! Hope you all had a great summer now to introduce myself to you, I am Courtney Burnett your new Center 8 representative for the 2007-2008 school year. I have also been elected to serve as the MAHS Vice President, and I am very excited for the upcoming year. I’m a senior at Comstock High School (go Class of ’08!) where I am president of our student government and part of NHS. My extracurricular activities include basketball, volleyball, and softball, hanging out with my friends, and eating food! The state charity for this year is Alternatives in Motion. They are an organization that provides wheelchairs to families who cannot afford them or need a specific wheelchair to fit their needs. It was founded by Johnnie Tuitel who spoke at the state conference last year, if you heard him speak then you would know that he is an amazing person. The best way for you to help Johnnie’s organization is to think of fundraising ideas for your school to raise money, any amount will help! For dates on upcoming FTI’s and other conferences look around on the website at the calendar to see when there is one close to your area.
