Hey Center 12!

I hope everyone had a great summer and is ready to start the new school year!

For those of you who still don’t know me, my name is Lisa Zelenak and I will be attending Avondale High School this year as a senior! In addition to being your Center 12 Representative, I will also be serving as Avondale’s Student Senate President.

Upcoming Events for MASC/MAHS

Starting in October, MASC will be hosting Fall Training Institutes to provide students with new skills to take back and apply to their councils. Here are a few nearby locations:

• Monday, October 29^th at Macomb Community Center
• Friday, November 2^nd at Troy High School

State Charity

This year’s State Charity—Alternatives in Motion—is an organization that provides wheelchairs for people who are uninsured. Did you know that the average cost of a manual wheelchair is $3,000 and the average cost of a power chair is $8,000? For more information on this year’s charity or fundraising ideas, you can visit AlternativesInMotion.org!
