State Charity of the Year, 2007-2008 2007-2008 Donation Form (pdf) View our past Charity of the Year organizations MASC & MAHS are proud to announce Alternatives in Motion as the 2007-08 Charity of the Year. Those of you that have been with our Association for a number of years may be very familiar with that organization! We work with Alternatives in Motion every five years as our State Charity. In 2003-04, we raised over $100,000 for this amazing organization! The goal for 07-08 is $150,000!!Alternatives in Motion is all about mobility. Specifically, they firmly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in society and not be hindered by mobility issues. Their mission is to provide wheelchairs to people who need them but cannot afford them, and who don't qualify for any other financial assistance. The purpose of this mission is to help individuals improve and maintain their dignity and quality of life through mobility assistance. To make this year's State Charity benefit the most students, we need our members to do just two things:
If you are looking to do more and help spread the word and raise awareness, we have two new special projects with this year's charity of the year! What is the State Charity all about? Each March, the MASC & MAHS Board of Delegates invite three to five charities to come and speak to the board, which then adopts one charity for the following school year. The MASC & MAHS member schools raise money in a variety of ways for the charity throughout the following school year. The associations, combined, have raised up to $100,000 in just one year for charity! To apply to be a State Charity of the Year, please fill out our online form.
